We headed out west of Weatherford last night to the second playoff game in Brock. Lynne and I took the scenic route up 171 and got stuck in traffic jams in Cresson and Weatherford. We did see 2 FWWR locomotives switching cars just outside of Cresson. The ball field wasn't too hard to find (it is a small town). I just followed a car that looked like it knew where it was going.
The two coaches knew each other so they talked before the game.
Our guys were ready to give their best. They knew that this would be another tough game.
It was a beautiful night for baseball. It was slightly overcast at game time so it wasn't unbearably hot. Once the sun set it was a nice night.
Our boys played hard. After 5 innings we were behind by only 1 run, 4-3. But at the bottom of the 6th inning Brock's bats woke up. I think our pitcher just wore out and our backup hurt his knee earlier in the game and couldn't play. They got a lot of hits off him including a grand slam. We couldn't make up the difference in the top of the 7th and ended up losing 12-3.
It was an emotional game, especially for our seniors. Coach Tennison gave an excellent speech to the boys after the game.
It was the last game for Andy (3), Dan (2), and the rest of the seniors. They will remember this season for the rest of their lives.

I talked with a man today who knew about the Brock school and community. They don't play football so put all their effort into baseball and basketball.
Sniff... you made me cry...
