The Last of the Thanksgiving Pictures

Everyone sat around on Thanksgiving night and played games. No blood was shed but it did get aggressive at times.
When we left to go home PaPa had already gone to work upholding truth, justice, and the American way! (Where does he work exactly?) The boys posed with MiMi for a quick picture.
As we left we scared this poor deer so bad that his antlers flew off!
On the trip home, as we got into Malone Texas, Jesse thought it was time to slip into a Slim Jim so we stopped at this little store. I thought it was landscaped nicely, except for the cigarette sign.

Thanksgiving Day

Lynne made the chicken and dressing this year for Thanksgiving. She let her Mom take a break from cooking the meal. We also cooked a turkey in a bag.
MiMi and Lynne sampled the turkey and seemed to think it was OK for human consumption.
Here is some of the food spread out to eat. Of special importance are the two chocolate pies in the background. They were very good.
The table looked nice.
Before the meal we took PaPa's picture with all his grankids.
The dreaded kids table. (Doesn't Andy look happy.)
The ravaged turkey.
After the meal some of us took a nap.
And some played on the trampoline. Later we watched the Cowboys game and had left overs for Supper. It was a fun and filling day.

Mimi and Papa's for Thanksgiving

We arrived at MiMi and PaPa's house on Tuesday afternoon for our Thanksgiving visit.
Piper came along. She enjoys all the new smells. She's been tracking deer through the yard.
This is the front sidewalk up to the house.
On Wednesday, Andy helped his PaPa wrap the water pipes in preparation for the colder weather that has been forecast for the area.
This is the deck off the back of the house.

Thanks to a big thunderstorm last year, PaPa has plenty of firewood.
Piper was trying to get some water out of the tub for the deer.

Our Sunday in Three Parts- Part Three

After lunch GranPa decided he wanted to go hunt for arrow heads. So we loaded up and headed out to look. We didn't find any.

Our Sunday in Three Parts- Part Two

We went to GranMa and GranPa's house after church to celebrate someones birthday. I wonder who's? Jesse is 11!
Jesse helped GranMa get the meal ready.
He blew his candels out while he talked to Mom on the phone (she was partying somewhere else).
Aunt Sue made a cake. She cut it like a pro and gave everyone a piece.
Suddenly this fuzzy brown creature attacked Andy's head!! Oh wait, that's his hair. He liked the cake.
David liked the cake too.

Square Footage Correction

I asked Coach Ellis tonight at church what the square footage is of the new church building. He said it is about 40,000 square feet! I was a little low in my statement last post.

Our Sunday in Three Parts- Part One

We had our first worship service on Sunday in the new Church building! I got there early to help set up the sound system and get it adjusted. There were a few people there setting up chairs.
The praise team got things started and we had Church. The crowd looked larger than a typical Sunday morning. It was kinda hard to tell in all that space. I believe it's around 22,000 square feet.
This is the group playing the offertory. The guitar players just looked at the keyboard players music because theirs kept blowing away. Before Tony preached, he had everyone get up and go to where their class rooms would be (see Flint's picture below). It sure was a long way from where we were to the babies at the opposite corner of the building.
And here is Pastor Tony teaching. I had adjusted the sound system the best I could but it sounded like we were in a big tin can. Wait, we were! The wind kept blowing into the microphones too. It was an exciting morning and everyone is looking forward to moving into the finished building.

A Picture For Brother Flint

I've been running behind in my blogging of last weekend. But I promised Bro Flint a picture of our Sunday School class so here it is. If you click on the picture it will load full size and you can save that one.

Saturday at the Golf Course

We helped work the golf tournament on Saturday at Mansfield National Golf Course. It was a fund raiser for the Maypearl golf program. We ended up with 14 teams, 2 carts per team.
Here are Lynne, Haden, and Will being taken out to monitor contests on different holes. I went out later to relieve Lynne.
The golfers showed great poise, style, and finesse. Except for this guy.
They fed us burgers after all the golfers finished. They then handed out trophies and had the raffle. Jesse won $15 in gift certificates from The Panthers Den (a burger place in Maypearl). It was a fun day with great weather for golf.

Last Home Game of the Season

We went to Maypearl on Friday night for the last home game of the season. It was senior recognition night so they were introduced before the game. From the football team, cheerleaders, and the band there were 7.
We played the Grandview striped donkeys for the game. Will said we should have made a sign that said, "Please, don't hurt us".
The Grandview band played first at halftime. They were very good as usual.
Then the Maypearl band played. Can you see them?
The main reason we went was so Will could play with the band in the stands during the fourth quarter. The drum section was great.
I think we lost.

Trunk or Treat 2007

Well, after 10 days of hype last night was the Trunk or Treat in the FBC parking lot. Members got there early to set up around the lot.

Instead of setting up downtown this year, the Maypearl Fire Department came to set up in the parking lot with us. They ran the flashy lights all night long.

There were alot of great costumes.

These girls were having fun.

Arg! A pirate baby.

Wow, an Incredible family.

Moo!

The Inman Clan brought this great game. To get candy you had to reach into the nose and pull out a penny. It was full of green spaghetti! Eww!

There were several pets there.

We'll have to get Pipper a bun costume for next year.

OK, we thought this was hilarious. This is Andy's friend Zach (aka: Dee?). He was Mike Vick and his dog. (if ya don't get it ask someone)

And Super David was there, with the power to help! Watch Super Why on channel 13 to understand that one.
And of course the prettiest baby there. Princess Lizzy (or is it a ballerina?)
They went long into the night. But we ran out of candy and went home a little after 8 o'clock. It was a great night and the whole town had fun!
