They finished the decking on the entire house today. Lynne met with the electrician and discussed light and switch placement.

Will looks like he's ready for a gun fight.

Medals awarded

At RA’s tonight they handed out the awards that the boys won at Congress last Friday. Jesse received a third place medal in the golf chip competition. Will received a first place in rod casting and a first place in archery. We are very proud of both of them!

What a difference a day

I took a few more pictures tonight of the house framing. It sure changes fast at this stage.

In the second picture, that's Lynne's kitchen to the right.

Framing started on Monday morning. I took these pictures when I got in from work that evening.

I forgot my camera tonight but they made alot of progress today. The roof and the porch are on now. GranPa may have pictures on his site.

The Cement Pour

Lynne borrowed GranPas digital camera yesterday and took alot of pictures. He gave them to us on a thumb drive today. So here are some of them.
It started to get a little crowded after awhile.

Foot Post

We had to post this to use it as our photo at the top of the page.

Good Friday

Will, Jesse, and I left at 7:00 this morning to head to Latham Springs for RA Congress. We did get to see the first truck arrive before we left.

Jesse and Will had a great time at congress. Jesse enjoyed the riflery and the archery. Jesse also enjoyed the golf chip. And last time we checked the postings Will had first in the casting competetion.

Will left a nice pattern on his target. Every one of his arrows hit the target.

When we got home we went to check out the finished concrete work.

Old RR Bridge

On the way home on Saturday we took the back roads from Italy to Maypearl. We stopped and took a picture of this old railroad bridge. I believe it’s on the old T&P line between the two towns.

Busy Saturday

We had a busy Saturday. We had to be at the church at 7:45 in the morning to leave for RA racers in Italy. Maypearl had the biggest group at the event. Jesse finished in first place for forth grade. Will finished in first place for sixth grade. They raced against each other for the entire Challenger division (4-6 grade). The blue car is Will’s and the gold truck is Jesse’s. Jesse didn’t place but Will won first place of all the Challengers.

Will raced the winner of the Lads division (1-3 grades) for overall fastest car. It was a best of 3 races but they had to run 2 races twice because they were too close to call. In the end Will won by inches.

We made it to Auburn in time for the meeting of the cemetery association. Lots of good looking food was there. We have many relatives buried here. There is alot of history here also.

Dusty evening

I finaly got this picture to share with everyone. When I got to work on Monday, this was sitting in my parking place. I don't have to use my own truck anymore to deliver the mail. And the Post Office pays for the gas!

We went to Cleburne tonight to buy groceries. This is not a great picture but you can kinda see the dust in the air. You could definitly smell the dust. I don't know if it was SanAngelo or Amarillo blowing in.

The prep for the foundation is finished and we passed our plumbing inspection. The can't pour any concrete untill we close with the title company though. We hope to do that an Fri or hopefully Mon at the latest. The picture is Lynne's view off the front porch.

Rebar

The crew came in today and started laying rebar for the foundation. They moved in all the sand and widened the trenches first.

I don't know who this goofy kid belongs to. But the cute girl in the red shirt is Kate.

Sunday fishin'

Will's Sunday school class went fishing after Church. He didn't catch anything. The rest of the crew caught 4 catfish and a bass.

Lynne's rose by the back fence was looking real nice so I thought I'd include a picture of it too. It's an antique variety called "Old Blush". It seems to really like it's location.

The plumbing picture

Here is the picture of the plumbing in progress that Lynne mentioned. We had a great anniversary yesterday. Of course it wasn't a real date day without our trip to Lowe's.

Here are a couple of our new neighbors. They get a little noisy at times.

This is a rare peacefull moment for these two. Would anyone like to cat sit for about 4 months?

Our anniversary

I wish I had a picture but sadly I don't. Today celebrates 17 years of marriage. One of the ways we celebrated was by going out to the house site and seeing what had happened today. The plumber had been there and done some work on the layout of the plumbing.

This is so exciting! We have waited 15 years to do this and now we are on our way. We are down 2-3 times a day and now that the sun will be up longer I am sure that we will be there more often and longer.

We are fixing to put our current house on the market. We are praying it sells quickly. We are currently working on cleaning it out and packing things up. I had told the boys and Jeff that when they broke ground we would start packing. Well, here we go!!!!!

I am sure that Jeff will post more pictures later.

Fri night at the house

GranMa and GranPa came by to look on Friday night. Granpa had been by on and off all day but it was GranMa's first visit. The builder brought the plumber by tonight too. He will start work on Saturday.

Andy took this picture of the sun setting behind one of the Pecan trees.

Jungle Cat

I grew some wheat in a pot for the cats. Spaz really seems to like it.
